In Menor's esteemed bout in 2001 at the King's Birthday World Tournament (being the 1st American to participate in the prestigious event) the Thai commentator labeled Menor as an "Ambassador to Muay Thai in America for his courageous fighting style and his 'purity' to the Muay Thai art." After the battle, he was applauded by the Thai people for his bravery and technique. It wasn't until the end of 2002, after coming back from an 11 hr plane trip from Japan, that he realized that he had not only represented the U.S.A in professional fighting, but that he was also a representative of Muay Thai at an honored level passed on to him by his peers . He spent the next 3 years reflecting on his journeys to Thailand, Japan, Europe and his experiences in the ring from that past decade. Today, Melchor Menor is now ready to share his knowledge.
